Special events during May included Winkleigh Football Club Quiz Night on 2nd, a Yoga Workshop on 4th, and a funeral wake on 30th. The hall is also regularly booked for private parties and wedding receptions.

The monthly market on Saturday 3rd May celebrated the 80th anniversary of VE Day with themed stalls, live wartime music on stage provided by The Hummingbirds wartime group, and a VE Day slide show projected onto the meeting room wall, set up as a wartime NAAFI.

The Village Hall is managed by a committee of 8 trustees, currently chaired by Tony Aston. The Hall is registered with The Charity Commission (Reg No: 301016)

This year has seen the installation of roof lagging throughout the roof space, noticeably improving heat retention in the building and a reduction in the amount of oil needed to heat, particularly the main hall.

The hall is actively seeking funds through grants for the replacement of all of its windows. Much of the double glazing is blown and no longer fit for purpose.

Maintenance of the Hall grounds is carried out monthly by local gardener, Paul Beer.
